need help with my Student Loans, what options do I have? The law has recently been changed, so that in most cases you must pay your student loans. However, Chapter 13 will protect you from any action by your Student Loan Lenders. You will be allowed to make a monthly payment on your Student loans that you can afford, so you can stop worrying about wage garnishments or other harassing collection activity. Back Can I be denied a student loan because I or my parents filed Bankruptcy? No. Section 525 of the Bankruptcy Code specifically prohibits discriminatory treatment by any governmental or other student loan program on the basis of filing a bankruptcy. A student loan agency CAN NOT deny you or your children's request for future student loans. Back |
